Practical case work is an integral feature of the legal investigation modules. This ensures that you will appreciate how the legal theory actually applies to real life investigations. Discussion, interaction and debate are encouraged on the courses so as to maximise the learning experience.
We offer modules on:
• Your obligations & duties as an Investigator
• What powers you have as an Investigator
• The practical application of the rules of evidence
• The law applicable to investigations
• The proofs required for a successful prosecution
• How to deal with complainants, witnesses, suspects, lawyers, the Judge
• How to collect, preserve and present evidence
• How to document your work to the highest legal standard
• Common difficulties with notes, reports and statements
course objective
You are the enforcement officer on the ground. Whilst you need to have an awareness of legal principles you are not expected to be a lawyer. What is crucial is that after training with us you will understand how to practically apply the law in your everyday investigation, inspections, enforcement and compliance work.
course design & delivery
All of our courses are designed to maximise interaction and discussion as this will allow you to gain the most from the course. This ensures all delegates are comfortable participating and feel free to discuss their concerns and experiences in a relaxed open forum.
This style of teaching works extremely well as it allows for discussion and sharing of information which benefits all participants.
